WEWAC Grants & Scholarships

The Cucamonga Valley Water District (CVWD) is a member of the Water Education Water Awareness Committee (WEWAC). WEWAC is a consortium of water conservation and water education professionals in the Inland Empire, working together to promote water education and water awareness programs in southern California. See grants and scholarships available to students and teachers below:

Water Scholar Program:

  • The Water Scholar program provides financial support to high school seniors planning to attend a two- or four-year college. The goal of the Water Scholar Program is to promote water awareness and inspire students to think about what clean water means to them.
  • Scholarship Awards of up to $1500. Deadline: January 24, 2019

Broadcast Media & Digital Art Contest:

  • The objective of the Contest is to increase awareness of the importance of water in Southern California. 
  • Prizes: Cash prizes are awarded to the school; no individual students will be provided prize money. Cash prizes range from $150-$400.
  • Deadline: Thursday, February 14, 2019

EduGrant Program (Grant for Educators & Teachers):

  • The EduGrant is designed to increase student awareness of the importance of water in southern California. 
  • All kindergarten through 12th grade teachers are eligible to apply for grant awards of up to $800 each. Teachers may choose to apply individually or as a team with other teachers. Creative and unique approaches to water education are highly encouraged.
  • Grant applications are typically available in October and are due in November. For additional information or project ideas, visit the WEWAC website.

ACWA's 2019-'20 Scholarships

ACWA began its scholarship programs in 1961 to motivate committed students to join the effort to ensure California’s water quality through sound management policies. The scholarship program is all about investing in future water leaders.
