Rancho Cucamonga, CA- On Saturday, April 22, over 800 community members attended the Cucamonga Valley Water District’s (CVWD/District) Open House and Earth Day celebration, which was celebrated in-person for the first time since 2019. The community got a behind-the-scenes look and met with over 60 CVWD employees who shared their passion for the critical services they provide to the community.
The event offered attendees a wide span of resources and engaging activities, including booths hosted by community partners, local legislative officials, kids’ activity groups, and more. Event highlights included a CVWD department open house, vehicle display, and family-fun entertainment. In addition, eco-performer Paul Cash was in attendance and performed a water-wise magic show.
“It was a great come-back morning! So good to see others enjoying the event and I learned a thing or two on top of everything. Thank you to all that worked hard for the Open House!” commented an Earth Day attendee. As part of the event, District staff provided water leak investigations, a virtual reality treatment plant tour, water valve repair display, emergency preparedness, and much more.
“This year’s Earth Day & Open House was well attended and gave the District the opportunity to connect one-on-one with our community,” commented Board President Randall Reed. “We are excited that people of all ages were able to join us and had a great time learning more about CVWD and the services we provide.”
CVWD thanks our community partners and volunteers who joined us to make this event a success! Additionally, a sponsorship through Edison International helped make this event possible.
